Smartfinish
Dressed Boards
Smartfinish Dressed Boards are made from radiata
pine, with no added chemicals. With a smoth finish, Smartfinish
Dressed Boards are easy to use and ready for painting,
staining or white-liming. Fashioned from 100% renewable
radiata pine, woodlogic® Smartfinish Linings can be
fixed to rafters, joists, trusses, wall framing or pine
battens to enhance heritage-style or modern homes. They
are easily installed by a builder or home-owner as a facelift
for damaged or tired walls, or as a facing material for
new walls or ceilings. Simply apply a light sanding before
painting, lime-washing or staining to enhance the natural
grain and features in the pine.
A range of grades
There are three grades to choose from: Standard
grade is suitable for applications where aesthetics
are important, such as blanket boxes, bookshelves and
bedside tables. It is available cut to specific lengths
and requires minimal docking and surface finishing.
Run of Mill Grade Dressed Boards are
used in the same applications, however docking and/or
surface finishing may be necessary to remove unsightly
knots, sap stains, or trenching. Merchantable
(industrial) Grade is suitable for applications
where visual appearance is not important such as the
back of bookcases or draw linings. When used for display,
it requires docking or surface finishing.
To grade Smartfinish
Dressed Boards:
- Find the clearer face by looking at both sides of
the piece.
- Identify the largest characteristic on the piece
of timber.
- Estimate the size of the characteristic by eye.
Keep a tape-measure handy to check your estimate.
