Preservative treated Norclad Exterior applied direct to studs as exterior cladding can provide a cost effective, modern architectural look for the most basic or elaborate building project. Significant cost savings are possible as it can also act as bracing to protect the stucture from wind and earthquake forces. Norclad Exterior provides tie down of the top plate to the bottom plate against wind uplift eliminating the need to use a ribbon top plate to strengthen the top plate to trusses or rafters that don't coincide with the stud location.

• Alternative protection systems against rot and insect attacks i.e. 'total' treatment by Ammoniacal Copper Quaternary (ACQ) and pressure treatment of the panel by Light Organic Solvent Preservative (LOSP).
