Hybeam H2

Engineered I-Joists are now safely H2 treated to provide
effective, safe protection from termites and other insects
in above ground, interior flooring and framing applications.
A unique H2 treatment is applied during manufacture so
wherever you use Hybeam, it'll be death to termites and
peace-of-mind for you.
Treatment
In a revolutionary process, a unique H2 treatment
is applied to the glueline during manufacture to achieve
full penetration of the beams, from surface to core.
The preservative used is bifenthrin - a synthetic termiticide
and insecticide which has low toxicity to humans and
to most non-target animal life. It is biodegradeable
and odourless.
Applications
H2 treatment protects against most termites and
other insects, but not fungal decay or rot. It is approved
for use in applications which can be described as "interior
or protected above ground". This is equivelant
to Hazard Level 2 as defined in AS1604-2002 Specification
for Preservative Treatment - Part 3:Plywood and Part
4:Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL). It is therefore not
suitable for situations that will be exposed to weather
or dampness such as ground contact.
