Ranging in colour from blonde
to darkest brown, timber can look either streamlined
and contemporary or traditional and welcoming.
Its beauty is matched by its durability, which
makes it a particularly good choice of floor covering.
But selecting the best style
of timber for a particular project can be a difficult
task. Floorboards must be carefully chosen according
to the type of sub-floor they'll sit over, and
must complement the size and style of the room.
There are now more than 30 Australian
and imported species on show, including new room
settings to enable designers, clients and builders
to make an informed decision on what timber best
suits their needs.
In addition to the traditional
80mm flooring, Tait Timber offers a collection
of wide board (130mm x 19mm) and the new 'Plank"
range - 180mm x 21mm planks accurately machined
and kiln dried. Available in Red and Grey Ironbark,
Spotted Gum, Aussie beech, Blackbutt, Stringbark
and US Oak, these new flooring timbers now offer
unique design options.

Boral
Timber is committed to a Renewable Resource.
Timber is one
of the world's few truly renewable natural resources.
In Australia,
Boral nurture and protect this valuable resource through
a rigorous framework of both Commonwealth and State
laws and regulations.
Before harvesting
is even considered, independent assessments will determine
the environmental, heritage, economic and social values
of the forest - including the creation of an adequate
and representative reserve system that covers all forest
types.
Strict government
guidelines apply to all harvesting operations - from
the selection of those trees to be harvested and the
avoiding of environmentally sensitive areas such as
endangered species habitat or scenic and recreation
areas prone to soil erosion and the rehabilitation of
harvested sites.
Within this framework,
you can be assured that the native hardwood you buy
from Boral Timber is sourced from a forest that is sustainably
managed. In fact, Boral Timber's industry is still one
of the few major land users in Australia that can demonstrate
compliance with the principles of Ecologically Sustainable
Development.
